WHAT ARE THE HALL OF FAME NOMINATION CRITERIA?
To be eligible for an AMIF Hall of Fame Award nomination one must be:1. A current citizen of Australia
2. A minimum of twenty-five (25) years of age
3. Actively involved in the marine industry for a minimum of ten years
4. Beyond personal or professional reproach
5. Nominated by an active member of the AMIF
6. Elected to the Hall of Fame by a 2/3 vote of the AMIF Board of Directors
Note: Award nomination (and presentation) may be accomplished posthumously. The AMIF Hall of Fame is an award for “substantial and lasting contributions.” Thus, an individual may be nominated more than once, but is eligible to receive only one (1) award.
NOMINATION CATEGORIES:
The AMIF Hall of Fame has been structured to recognise and honour specific individuals (in both general and technical categories) who have made or continue to make substantial and lasting contributions toward the advancement of the marine industry within the context of but not limited to:
1. PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT – BOATS
Individuals responsible for marine architecture, powerplant, drive system, sail and major component system design and/or manufacturing innovations.
1.1 – Hull Design (Power, below waterline)
1.2 – Exterior (Power, above waterline)
1.3 – Interior (Power)
2.1 – Hull Design (Sail, below waterline)
2.2 – Exterior (Sail, above waterline)2.3 – Interior (Sail)

Individuals responsible for auxiliary marine equipment and components, trailers and accessory innovations which advance safety, navigation, communication and/or performance in recreational boating.

3.1 – Navigation Equipment, etc.
4.1 – Performance Equipment, etc.
5.1 – Styling Innovations, etc.
6.1 – Hardware/Accessories Innovation, etc.

3. COMPETITIVE ACTIVITIES
Individuals who actively participate in or are members of sponsoring entities and/or sanctioning bodies which support and promote competitive powerboat, sailing, angling and/or water sports events.

Individuals actively involved— past or presently— with the protection of the marine environment and related natural resources.

5. LEGISLATIVE SUPPORT
Marine trade or public service individuals — appointed or elected — who have made or continue to make a positive impact on the recreational marine industry and the general boating public via the legislative process.
