WHAT ARE THE HALL OF FAME AWARDS?

History continues to verify that the innovative individuals who pursue perfection are often the ones who rise to the zenith of their chosen profession. And the marine industry is no exception to this reality. Hence, the Australian Marine Industries Federation (AMIF) has deemed it appropriate and timely to recognise and honour the individuals who have made or continue to generate “substantial and lasting contributions” toward the advancement of the marine industry. Thus, beginning in 2006 (and every year thereafter), the officers, directors, and members of the AMIF will nominate and induct deserving individuals into the AMIF Hall of Fame.

Via the caliber and achievements of the initial Hall of Fame members, the benchmark for the future inductees has already been established. And although the actual award nomination criteria is straightforward and uncomplicated, all concerned with the installation of the future Hall of Fame candidates would do well to carefully consider the ‘spirit’ in which the award is presented, that is to say: to bestow recognition and honour upon those whose names and deeds are synonymous with pursuit of quality, innovation, and perfection within the sphere of their expertise, and those who have or continue to make substantial and lasting contributions toward the advancement of the marine industry.

WHAT IS OUR NOMINATION PROCESS?

If you believe a particular individual deserves to be nominated for AMIF Hall of Fame consideration, here is the simple procedure one must follow:

First, to be eligible to nominate an individual, one must be an active member in good standing with the AMIF. Second, one must complete the attached nomination form listing specific reasons why the candidate should be considered and in which category. Then, mail nomination to:
