Training 2008
For Employers
In Partnership with Manufacturing Skills Australia (MSA) the Australian Marine Industries Federation (AMIF) undertook an education program for all Boating Industry Associations (BIA) and Marine Queensland (MQ) staff to give them a better understanding of the Australian Training System. A basic Guide was produced to help BIA/MQ staff provide assistance for members.

Training 2007
All Aboard!
(Recruit, Train, Retain)During 2007 the Australian Marine Industries Federation (AMIF) embarked upon a project designed to produce a model for improving recruitment, maintaining quality training and leading to better workforce retention.
A comprehensive review of the marine industry in every state of Australia was conducted to inform the model.
This resulted in the All Aboard Introduction Document, the All Aboard Career Guide aimed at Career Teachers, the All Aboard Employer Guide aimed at Employers, and for those Career Teachers and Employers who wish to gain greater knowledge the All Aboard Manual.
Finally, as a consequence of industry feedback during the development of the All Aboard series, the All Hands on Deck Proposal was written. As of February 2008 that proposal is still before relevant Federal Ministers. The AMIF is hopeful, that given the education and training philosophy of the current government, the recommendations contained in the All Hands on Deck Proposal will be supported by the government and implemented in the very near future.
